Deadpool 2 (2018)

Deadpool 2 Like many others, I did enjoy Deadpool when it came out a few years back. it was a refreshing and very self aware film that wasn’t afraid to break the fourth wall and really go for it. Add to that that it was one of the few R-rated comic book/superhero films, which ultimately made for a fun time. Now after the dust settles from Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool 2 comes out and immediately from the trailers you can tell its going for its referential and aware humor. Sequels do not always work but I think in this films … Continue reading Deadpool 2 (2018)

On Chesil Beach (2018)

On Chesil Beach I love Saoirse Ronan so much, just like everyone else in the universe should. She’s a supremely talented actress and I knew I had to see this film as soon as I could. On Chesil Beach is a film made by a first time director in Dominic Cooke. The film also reunites Billy Howle and Ronan, after starring in The Seagull (which came out a week ago as it is). So Saoirse Ronan month continues and On Chesil Beach was definitely enjoyable. The film is a little different than I expected but is a satisfying experience. The … Continue reading On Chesil Beach (2018)

Beast (2018)

Beast I heard really good things about this so wanted to check it out. I watched Taboo, so I know Jessie Buckley from that series and know she’s a talent. It’s always nice to stay in the dark about a film’s plot, which is relatively easier for these limited release films. I liked Beast from the get go and thought it did a lot very well. its overall, a well acted and really well made film. Its not as mysterious as it may seem but it does excellent portrayal of a relationship that against all odds attempts to flourish, despite … Continue reading Beast (2018)

Terminal (2018)

Terminal I was admittedly not a fan of Margot Robbie when she first starting making waves. I didn’t go crazy for her in early films or her portrayal as Harley Quinn. What did make me a fan of her was her portrayal of Tonya Harding in I, Tonya. She was really tremendous in that film. When i saw the trailer for Terminal I thought it was something I could love. It looked like a female driven, cult classic, that had a lot of style. Was also surprised that virtually no theaters were showing this (thank god for video on demand). … Continue reading Terminal (2018)
